For the 2026–2027 test year: all four 5001 subtests in one book, each practiced on its own clock.

The Praxis Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects test (5001) is really four tests. Reading and Language Arts (5002) gives you about 80 questions in 90 minutes, Mathematics (5003) about 50 in 65 minutes, Social Studies (5004) about 60 in 60 minutes, and Science (5005) about 55 in 60 minutes. That is 245 questions in 4 hours 35 minutes, and each subtest has its own passing score. You can sit all four in one session or take them on separate dates, and this book is built for either plan.

Each chapter follows the ETS topic list for its subtest. Phonics, fluency, reading, writing, research, and grammar for 5002; place value, fractions, ratios, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data for 5003; U.S. and world history, government, geography, anthropology, and economics for 5004; Earth, life, and physical science and the nature of science for 5005. Every content chapter has a Commonly Confused section and ends with ten practice questions.

  • 62 content chapters in four parts, one part per subtest
  • The real test's question formats: numeric entry and on-screen calculator work in Mathematics, Which TWO and Select ALL items, and data, map, and document questions in Social Studies and Science
  • Study plans for four weeks and eight weeks, for a combined sitting or separate dates
  • Review tools: a quick reference, a glossary, a topic coverage map, an answer key at a glance, a score tracker, and a wrong-answer log
  • Qualifying scores for each subtest, and where each state stood on the 5001 in October 2026

Checked at the source. Question counts, timing, fees, category weights, calculator rules, and state qualifying scores were read from the Praxis Study Companion for test 5001, the ETS test pages, and the Praxis Tests Information Bulletin in October 2026. ETS has set August 2028 as the target date to retire the 5001, and each state picks its own last date, so confirm that your state still accepts it before you register.
